The Image Flow Photography Center in Marin is thrilled to host this extraordinary duo, Nancy Richards Farese and Bob Farese, in our studio for their respective book signings. Each photographer captures imagery in wildly different mediums—for Nancy, a perspective on children’s play, which she documented through her philanthropic travels, and for Bob, a doctor and research scientist with an impressionistic eye for visual storytelling.

Photographers will present their respective new books Potential Space: A Serious Look at Child’s Play and Am I Not Light.

Nancy Richards Farese is a photographer, social entrepreneur, writer, and philanthropist. Founder of PhotoPhilanthropy (2009), and CatchLight (2015), her work explores the role of the arts and media in civil society and leverages the power of visual storytelling for the social good. She is an award-winning social documentary photographer, working with social development agencies to address social and political conditions globally. Her work has been widely published, and her photography book Potential Space: A Serious Look at Child’s Play was released by MW Editions.

Bob Farese, Jr. is a doctor and a research scientist with a love for the creative arts, including photography and music. A longtime artist with pencil or paintbrush, recently he discovered the joy of making sketches with a camera; a Zen-like approach that has transformed the way he views the world. He studied and learned photography under the teaching and influences of David Guttenfelder, Ed Kashi, Gueorgui Pinkhassov, Tatiana Sotnikova, Laura El-Tantawy, and his wife, Nancy Richards Farese. He lives in Boston and the San Francisco Bay area. His first monograph and photo book, Am I Not Light was released by Lecturis, including more than 100 of Farese’s exquisite images.

Books available through April 2022. Monday – Friday, 10AM–6PM.
